We offer a range of services to our members and community groups. Over the years, we have built up a strong relationship with other groups within the Spanish speaking community to participate, get involved and share a wider cross-cultural experience together.
school incursions
We offer incursion days/events at your school to introduce your students to the diverse and colourful cultures of Spain and Latin America. We can tailor the day specifically to your needs with interactive performances, dances, music, storytelling with shadow puppets, craft and food activities.
We offer specific themes for schools that teach Spanish as their LOTE, or are interested in special Multicultural Studies, Diversity Week, Education Week, etc.
festivals
Festivals are an integral part of the Spanish and Latin American cultures. We get involved in many festivals to give access to children and families to experience this vibrant part of life. They are a fun and meaningful way to engage and celebrate with the wider community as well as giving CaLD artists opportunity to perform.
The group has performed and been involved in cross-cultural festivals across Victoria.
community workshops
Enriching the cultural life of the community is part of our mission. Chiquitines Cultural Workshop Inc. does this by working with community groups to help enhance their understanding of Spanish and Latin American cultures through hands on workshops that are suitable for people no matter their age, ability or background.
We offer workshops in dance, craft, music, theatre, sports, literature, cooking, theatre and storytelling. Alternatively we offer entertaining performances.
We are happy to discuss your group's needs and come up with a workshop that is suitable for your organisation.
social fundraisers
We are actively involved in fundraising events, to raise money for worthwhile causes. We can help in these events by raising money through face-paintiing and providing activities for children.
Some of the fundraising initiatives we have been involved with include Mission Mexico Children's Refuge, Peruvian earthquake appeal, Salvadorian flood appeal, Casa Angela education programs for disadvantaged young mothers and babies.
